For Getrude Okoth Rea (MBA 2022), the chance to come to IMD on a Merit scholarship was a dream come true. 

After gaining an undergraduate degree in Financial Engineering in her home country of Kenya, Getrude launched into six years of management consulting working with businesses across sub-Saharan Africa, before heading up a software technology firm, driving growth through the COVID pandemic to a successful Series A. Getrude said,

“After a number of years supporting business growth and investing in my personal growth as a leader, I felt it was time for me to broaden my horizons by joining a top European business school and IMD was my number one choice.

“My plan is to use my background, experience and now my new skills and networks from the MBA to drive and impact businesses at scale – and I hope to create jobs on the continent of Africa, and inspire others to pursue their dreams.”
